The same versatile Kerfkore product but made with No Added Formaldehyde materials.

Kerfkore-Green is a more environmentally friendly version of the original Kerfkore product. It combines a NAF (no added formaldehyde) latex impregnated paper with a NAUF (no added urea formaldehyde) core material to create a truly green choice for doing fast, accurate and quality radius projects.

Kerfkore-Green allows designers, architects, specifers and manufacturers the ability to qualify for USGBC (US Green Building Council) LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) credit points for MR 4.1, MR 4.2 and EQ 4.4. It may also contribute to regional credits MR 5.1 and MR 5.2 dependant upon project location.

Kerfkore-Green is also available in a FSC Chain-of-Custody certification that can contribute to LEED credit MR 7 in addition the other credits.

Kerfkore-Green is produced from one of our nation’s most renewable resources, timber products. Wood products are carbon neutral in that trees and wood store carbon. Like other plants, trees take in carbon dioxide from the air as they grow and give us pure oxygen in return. If you combine the facts of high energy efficiency in creating the material, low fossil fuel consumption to process it, and that carbon accounts for half of wood's dry weight, you find that no other building material can boast such a great environmental story.

Kerfkore-Green provides for smooth and symmetrical inside and outside radii down to 3 1/2". Tighter radii may be achieved with 5/8" and 1/2" material.

Kerfkore-Green is ideal for production environments where repetitive products are manufactured in custom applications. It accepts face materials like horizontal or vertical grade HPL, 2-ply veneers, phenolic-backed veneers, metals, and other semi-rigid materials to be laminated flat and them formed into virtually any shape without stress cracks, delamination or telegraphing.

Kerfkore-Green is available in a nominal 4 x 8 and 4 x 10 panel sizes with 1/2", 5/8" and 3/4" thickness. Its usages include architectural panels, store fixtures, furniture, display and exhibits industries plus many other numerous curved applications.

Kerfkore-Green is designed to be laminated flat that provides ease of face positioning, uniform lamination pressure, labor savings and improved quality. It can easily be spliced in length or width to achieve unique sizes. The 4 x 8 size can be cut into two 4 x 4 panels and by placing them side by side an 8 x 4 can be achieved upon lamination of the face material. Excess material can be used on other projects that will increase material yield virtually eliminating scrap and providing additional savings.

Kerfkore-Green works well with contact adhesive when attaching your face materials. Firm hand pressure or medium pressure with a J-roller works well. It can be laminated with PVA adhesive in a cold press but only 30 psi is recommended for this process. This will allow for a fast quality process that will increase throughput and quality. Hot press lamination is not recommended. Due to the many different adhesives on the market it is recommended that a small sample be tested to ensure proper performance.
